This Topiary Buxus has been hand trimmed over a number of years to get to this beautiful shape and it has been planted in the finest quality container compost to promote strong and healthy growth.
The Box hedge plant (Buxus Sempervirens) is the most popular species for luxury low hedging and Topiary shapes. This evergreen hedging plant is perfect in containers or to be used for hedges. Our treesrange from 50cm up to 1.5m and is ideal for topiary. More recently the swing from using Buxus Topiary in more formal gardens has changed and now we are advising our customers to get a very contemporary look from Buxus by having them planted in very contemporary planters. This seems to give quite a minimilistic look and feel to the Topiary. But no matter if you want contemporary or traditional, Buxus is perfect for structure and statement.
Box hedging plants have very small, dark green leaves so they're easy to clip into a formal, neat shape and because Box plants are slow growing, you don't have to clip too often - once a year is adequate - or twice if you're really neat! Box hedge plants are surprisingly tough, standing up to almost all soil types, shade and drought, our bushy Topiary plants lend themselves to patios, door planters, edging pathways, formal hedges and decorative knotted hedge gardens." Available in packs of 25 or 50 bare roots and grows 10-20cm per year.

No, it is quite easy. No matter what shape your Buxus is, it only requires trimming once a year on or just after Derby day and it is very easy and quite relaxing.
Buxus does like a drink (don't we all) so make sure that it is always well watered if planted in a container, at least a couple of times a week. In the ground less so but remember all trees and plants need water. Lack of watering is the biggest cause of people loosing Buxus.
Planting Buxus is easy. Just have a good look at the pot size and create a hole slightly wider, pop it in and give a gentle pressing in to firm up . Give it a good watering in and
